Atlanta, GA – Rear-End Accident with Injuries in NB Lanes of I-285
Atlanta, GA (September 26, 2021) – At 1:37 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, September 26, a rear-end accident occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of South Atlanta Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control and rear-ended the other. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained severe damages as a result. They had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
