Atlanta, GA – Pedestrian Crash at University Ave & Metropolitan Pkwy
Atlanta, GA (November 30, 2021) – At 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, a pedestrian crash occurred at an intersection in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened at the intersection of University Avenue and Metropolitan Parkway. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection, colliding forcefully with each other. After the initial collision, one of the vehicles left the roadway and collided with another vehicle and a pedestrian walking in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The drivers of the first two vehicles were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was also rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, the intersection was blocked in the area for several hours as police worked to clear the scene. No charges are being brought at this time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
