Atlanta, GA – Pedestrian Accident with Injuries at J W Dobbs Ave & Piedmont Ave
Atlanta, GA (January 10, 2022) – On Monday morning, January 10, a pedestrian accident with injuries took place at an intersection in Atlanta.
Atlanta Police reported that the collision happened around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of J.W. Dobbs Avenue and Piedmont Avenue. An unidentified pedestrian was walking in the area when they suddenly started to cross the street at the intersection. This is when they were struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the intersection. It is believed that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene.
Paramedics and numerous other Atlanta responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital, though their current condition is not known.
A right lane of traffic was closed in the area for some time, which led to delays in the downtown Atlanta area throughout rush hour this morning.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
