Atlanta, GA – One Individual Killed in Pedestrian Accident on I-20
Atlanta, GA (July 9, 2021) – At 7:18 a.m. on the morning of Friday, July 9, a pedestrian accident took place on a highway in Atlanta that led to a fatality.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of the Downtown Connector. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle traveling on the highway. It is not known if the driver remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, all westbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
