Atlanta, GA – Officer Involved in Car Crash on Martin Luther King Jr Dr
Atlanta, GA (August 28, 2021) – Around 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, August 27, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and North Columbia Street. A passenger vehicle and a police cruiser were traveling in the area when they collided head-on after entering the intersection. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the accident. The injured victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked for approximately one hour as police worked to clear the scene. This caused extensive delays in the area.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
