Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries in SB Lanes of I-285
Atlanta, GA (July 5, 2021) – At 11:07 a.m. on the morning of Monday, July 5, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Cascade Road, exit 7. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged, which caused them to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries caused by the crash. Their conditions are not yet known.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time, which led to delays until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
