Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries in EB Lanes of I-285
Atlanta, GA (August 22, 2021) – At 7:34 p.m. on the evening of Friday, August 20, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 31, Buford Highway. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police urged those in the area to use GA-400 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
