Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-85 Near Pleasantdale Rd
Atlanta, GA (January 8, 2022) – Around 5:18 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, January 8, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
The accident allegedly took place in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Pleasantdale Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the southbound lanes when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Three lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene. Police urged those in the area to use Buford Highway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
