Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-85 Near Pleasantdale Rd
Atlanta, GA (July 14, 2021) – At 8:04 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, July 14, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 96, Pleasantdale Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles were extensively damaged, which led to them being towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The second right lane of traffic was blocked for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene. This led to extensive delays for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
