Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision with Injuries on I-85
Atlanta, GA (June 3, 2021) – At 10:37 p.m. on the night of Wednesday, June 2, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to the DeKalb County Police Department, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Pleasantdale Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles had severe rear-end damage while the other went off the side of the road near the tree line. The vehicles were towed from the scene due to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Multiple lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Buford Highway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
