Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision with Injuries on I-20 Near Glenwood Ave
Atlanta, GA (December 22, 2021) – At 4:06 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 22, a multi-vehicle collision occurred in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Glenwood Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. This led to extensive delays in the area. Police urged those traveling in the area to use Memorial Drive as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
