Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-85 Near Shallowford Rd
Atlanta, GA (July 6, 2021) – At 8:41 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, July 6, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 93, Shallowford Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
