Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-85 Near 17th St
Atlanta, GA (August 22, 2021) – At 4 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, August 20, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 84, 17th Street. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they forcefully collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
