Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-285 Near I-20 Leads to Injuries
Atlanta, GA (May 10, 2022) – Responders were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that took place on a major highway in Atlanta on Tuesday morning, May 10.
Atlanta Police responded to the scene of the crash around 8:33 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of I-20. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a severe chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are still being investigated. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged.
Fire crews, paramedics, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The right lane of traffic was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until police were able to clear the scene.
Atlanta Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
