Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-20 Near Moreland Ave
Atlanta, GA (June 12, 2021) – Before 8 p.m. on the night of Friday, June 11, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta authorities, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Moreland Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling on the highway in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged due to the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those traveling in the area to use Memorial Drive as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
