Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-20 Near Capitol Ave
Atlanta, GA (June 10, 2021) – At 7:51 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, June 10, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
The accident, according to police, took place in the westbound lanes of I-20 just west of Capitol Avenue (exit 58). Several vehicles were traveling in the area in the morning rush hour traffic when they became involved in a forceful collision with each other. The vehicles involved in the crash sustained heavy damages as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other Atlanta area responders were present at the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were hospitalized with injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The right center lane of traffic was blocked for a period of time, which led to delays into downtown Atlanta.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing at this time.
