Atlanta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision Leads to Injuries in WB Lanes of I-20
Atlanta, GA (May 20, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle collision that took place on a major highway in Atlanta on Friday night, May 20.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened around 8:21 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of I-285. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not fully known. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damages and had to be towed away from the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several victims were hurt as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time, which led to delays in the area until police cleared the scene. Police urged those traveling in the area to use Covington Highway as an alternate route.
