Atlanta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Downtown Connector
Atlanta, GA (April 6, 2021) – At 10:30 p.m. on the night of Monday, April 5, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash on a highway in Atlanta.
According to police, the collision took place on the Downtown Connector around the area of 17th Street. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of traffic when an adult male crossed the roadway and was struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was found unresponsive in the roadway. He was tragically pronounced deceased after being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The driver who struck the pedestrian was not injured and remained at the scene.
Due to the severity of the crash, all northbound lanes of traffic were blocked until 11:15 p.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
