Atlanta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-20
Atlanta, GA (July 23, 2021) – Around 2:30 a.m. on Friday morning, July 23, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Flat Shoals Road and Gresham Road. A van was traveling in the area when it allegedly slowed down due to unknown reasons, causing a motorcyclist to slam into the back of the vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has only been identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anyone inside the van sustained injuries in the crash.
All westbound lanes of I-20 were blocked in the area for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
