Atlanta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Car Accident on I-285
Atlanta, GA (April 9, 2021) – Around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 8, a man was killed in a fatal car accident on a highway in Atlanta.
According to the DeKalb County Police Department, the accident happened on I-285 around the area of Flat Shoals Parkway. A female driver was traveling against the flow of traffic when she hit a vehicle, which then struck a third vehicle.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, who was identified as a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver who started the chain-reaction collision was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. She was charged with reckless driving, felony vehicular homicide, and more.
The roadway was blocked in the area until 7:10 a.m.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
