Atlanta, GA – Man Injured in Serious Dump Truck Accident on I-285
Atlanta, GA (April 12, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, April 12, a man was seriously injured in a dump truck accident on a highway in Atlanta.
According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of I-85 near the Spaghetti Junction at 6:45 a.m. A dump truck, as well as one other large truck, collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The dump truck sustained severe front-end damage as a result of the collision and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the dump truck, identified only as an adult male, was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. His condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several eastbound lanes of traffic as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
