Atlanta, GA – Injury Car Accident Reported on I-285 at Donald Hollowell Pkwy/Hwy 278
Atlanta, GA (June 17, 2021) – On Thursday evening, June 17, a car accident occurred on a major highway in Atlanta, leading to at least one injured victim and severe traffic backups.
Officers with the Atlanta Police Department say that the wreck happened around 8:00 p.m. when two cars collided on northbound Interstate 285 past the Donald Hollowell Parkway (Highway 278). It’s unclear how the accident was caused, but paramedics, fire crews, and multiple other responders were immediately dispatched to assist.
Medical personnel treated at least one victim at the scene and may have transported another as a result of the accident.
Several lanes were blocked in the area until officers with the APD were able to clear the scene. Police urged those traveling through the area to use alternate routes.
