Atlanta, GA – Injury Accident in WB Lanes of I-20 Near Holmes Dr
Atlanta, GA (September 18, 2022) – Around 12:18 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, September 18, a car accident with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Holmes Drive. Police confirmed that several vehicles were traveling in the area when, for reasons that are not entirely known, they became involved in a chain-reaction crash. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more parties were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a red alert was issued in the area. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 78 as an alternate route as they worked to clear the scene.
