5/28 Atlanta, GA – Two-Vehicle Collision on I-75 Near 17th St

Atlanta, GA (May 16, 2021) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, a serious accident between a sedan and a truck took place on a major highway in Atlanta.

Officials with the Georgia Department of Transportation reported that the accident occurred on the Downtown Connector and caused the northbound roadway of Interstate 75/85 in Atlanta, located near the John Lewis Freedom Parkway, to close for more than two hours.

Officials said the roadway fully re-opened at 10:30 a.m.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
