Atlanta, GA – Highway Car Crash Causes Injuries on I-285 at Riverdale Rd
Atlanta, GA (July 17, 2021) – At least two people sustained injuries in a car accident that occurred on Saturday evening July 17, in the Clayton County area.
Officers with the Clayton County Police Department said that the two people were injured when multiple vehicles collided on the highway around 7:30 p.m. Authorities added that the wreck occurred on Interstate 285 close to the Upper Riverdale Road exit.
Clayton County authorities said that one of the vehicles was exiting onto Riverdale Road when another driver failed to yield and struck the vehicle from behind.
At least two people were transported to area hospitals, though their current conditions and identifying information were not released. Officers added that multiple lanes of the highway were blocked while they investigated the events leading up to the collision and worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues. It’s unclear if any of the drivers involved will be facing citations or charges in the wreck.
