Atlanta, GA – Five-Car Accident with Injuries in WB Lanes of I-20
Atlanta, GA (March 8, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a severe five-car accident that took place on a highway in Atlanta on Tuesday night, March 8.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Windsor Street. Five vehicles were allegedly traveling on the highway when they were involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not yet known. Vehicles photographed at the scene had severe damages and debris was seen scattered all over the roadway in the area.
Several responders, including paramedics and Atlanta Fire Rescue, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by fire crews. The injured victims were rushed to Grady Hospital for treatment of their injuries. None of their identities or conditions are known at this time.
Several westbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
