Atlanta, GA – Fatality Reported in Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-285
Atlanta, GA (October 9, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal tractor-trailer accident that took place on a highway in Atlanta on Friday morning, October 7.
According to Cobb County officials, the accident happened around 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of I-75. Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it was suddenly involved in a collision with one or more passenger vehicles due to reasons that are not yet known. The accident led to extensive damages.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. At least one person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone in the accident was injured.
The roadway was blocked in both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
