Atlanta, GA – Fatality Reported in Motorcycle Accident on I-85
Atlanta, GA (October 26, 2022) – A man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on a major highway in Atlanta on Tuesday morning, October 25.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened around 2 a.m. on I-85 around the area of Chamblee Tucker Road. Police confirmed that it all started when a woman ran out of gas while she was driving on the highway. A driver in another passenger vehicle swerved out of the way to try and avoid striking her vehicle but, instead, struck a motorcyclist.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has only been identified as an adult male, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic until police cleared the scene. This led to delays until police fully cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
