Atlanta, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Ted Turner Dr & John Portman Blvd
Atlanta, GA (November 11, 2022) – Around 6 a.m. on the morning of Friday, November 11, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened at 6 a.m. at the intersection of Ted Turner Drive and John Portman Boulevard. Police confirmed that a driver was stopped at the red light in the area and started to make a left turn when the light turned green. A pedestrian started to cross the roadway in a crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle. The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as an adult female, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else sustained injuries in the collision.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
