Atlanta, GA – EMS Transports Victims of I-85 Car Crash at Metro Pkwy
Atlanta, GA (January 9, 2022) – Around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, January 9, a multi-vehicle collision took place on a highway in Fulton County.
Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputies said that the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the transition ramp to Metropolitan Parkway.
Two cars collided in the left lanes for unknown reasons, leading to injuries and traffic backups in the area. Several left lanes of the highway were closed as a result of the collision.
Numerous first responders, including Fulton paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched, and EMTs appeared to transport at least one person to an area medical center for further treatment.
Officers worked to clear the scene and collect evidence for more than two hours after the initial collision but have not released details about the victims involved or the events causing the crash.
The investigation continues at this time, Fulton County officials have not provided updates on the victims’ current conditions.
