Atlanta, GA – Children Injured in Truck Accident on Fletcher St
Atlanta, GA (June 29, 2021) – At 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning, June 29, two children were injured in a truck accident involving a scooter in Atlanta.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Fletcher Street and Ira Street. A teenager and a 9-year-old were riding an e-scooter and crossing the intersection when they were struck by a utility truck that was driving in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The two children were taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, though their current conditions are not yet known.
The driver of the utility truck, who has not yet been identified, remained at the scene. He was not injured and has not been charged by police.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a short period of time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
