Atlanta, GA – Cardell Henry Evans Killed in Bicycle Crash on GA-42
Atlanta, GA (September 10, 2022) – A man was struck and killed in a bicycle accident that took place on a major roadway in Atlanta on Friday night, September 9.
According to Monroe County officials, the accident happened around 10:43 a.m. in the southbound lanes of GA-42. Police confirmed that an adult male was riding his bicycle headed south when he was struck from behind suddenly by a car. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and called police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, identified as 23-year-old Cardell Henry Evans, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time following the collision. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
