Atlanta, GA – Car Crash on The Perimeter Around Jonesboro Rd
Atlanta, GA (January 8, 2022) – At 11:43 p.m. on the night of Saturday, January 8, a car crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
DeKalb County officials confirmed that the accident happened on The Perimeter (I-285) around the area of exit 55, Jonesboro Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes when the vehicles collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The involved vehicles were damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a red alert was issued in the area. All lanes were blocked in the area for some time. Police urged those traveling in the area to use Thurmond Road or I-20 as alternate routes.
