Atlanta, GA – Car Crash Causes Injuries on I-85 NB at Clairmont Rd & SR 155
Atlanta, GA (May 9, 2021) – A multi-vehicle accident closed multiple lanes on Interstate 85 northbound and resulted in injuries on Sunday afternoon, May 9, in DeKalb County.
Per reports from the Atlanta Police Department, it’s not yet clear exactly how many vehicles were involved in the wreck, or what injuries occurred, though several cars were noted to have damage at the scene by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Multiple emergency response vehicles were dispatched to the scene of the accident and appeared to treat at least one victim at the scene. First responders may have also transported another victim to an area hospital.
Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said that their preliminary investigation revealed that at least two vehicles appeared to be involved in the crash, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. on I-85 at the Clairmont Road exit ramp and State Route 155. The incident blocked two of the left lanes.
Local EMTs did note that all injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening but did not give an update on the victims’ current conditions.
No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues.
