Atlanta, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-85 Near Central Ave
Atlanta, GA (August 8, 2021) – At 11:20 p.m. on Sunday night, August 8, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the Central Avenue area. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were left with severe damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their current conditions are not yet known.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use I-75 as an alternate route.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
