Atlanta, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-75 Near 17th St
Atlanta, GA (January 11, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a major highway in Atlanta on Tuesday, January 11.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened around 8:07 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 around the area of 17th Street, exit 251. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. It is believed that one of more vehicles lost control. The involved vehicles were damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
