Atlanta, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-20 Near Capitol Ave
Atlanta, GA (August 8, 2021) – At 7:37 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, August 8, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 58, Capitol Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, slamming into one another. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was completely blocked for a period of time. This led to extensive delays until police cleared the scene.
