Atlanta, GA – Car Accident on I-20 Near Candler Rd Leads to Injuries
Atlanta, GA (June 8, 2021) – At 5:31 p.m. on Tuesday evening, June 8, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Candler Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling on the highway when they suddenly collided due to unknown reasons. The vehicles involved in the accident were left with extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Glenwood Road or Memorial Drive as alternate routes.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
