Atlanta, GA – Car Accident Injuries Reported on I-75/85 at Arthur B. Langford Jr. Pkwy
Atlanta, GA (June 18, 2021) – On Friday afternoon, June 18, a car accident took place on a major highway in Atlanta that led to at least one hospitalization and serious backups in the area.
The accident, according to police, happened around 3:30 p.m. when two or more vehicles collided on Interstate 75/85 at the Arthur B. Langford Jr. Parkway (Highway 166) for unknown reasons. It appears that at least two vehicles sustained damage in the accident, though it’s unclear how the accident was caused and other cars were spotted on the side of the highway.
Fulton County paramedics were dispatched to the scene, along with fire rescue units and officers with the Atlanta Police Department. Medical personnel found that one or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were treated at the scene or hospitalized, but their current conditions are unknown.
All travel lanes on I-85 were blocked at milepost 243 until officers with the Atlanta Police Department were able to clear the scene. Police urged those traveling through the area to use alternate routes.
No further details have been provided, however, police say the investigation into the collision continues.
