6/8 Augusta, GA – Deputy Injured in Car Crash at Gordon Hwy & Highland Ave

Atlanta, GA (May 17, 2021) – At 10:21 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, May 16, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.

According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Cleveland Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized due to their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.

The accident led to heavy delays in the area. Police urged those traveling through to use I-75 as an alternate route.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
