Atlanta, GA – Car Accident Causes Injuries on I-85 at Buford Hwy in Fulton Co
Atlanta, GA (June 18, 2021) – Early Friday morning, June 18, a multi-vehicle crash took place on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident was reported in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of the Buford Highway. Police confirmed that the accident involved several vehicles, which collided in the area after one of the drivers involved lost control.
Paramedics and fire crews were dispatched to the crash around 3:00 a.m. and reported at least one seriously injured victim at the scene. Other victims who sustained minor injuries were treated and released by EMS, but it appears one of the individuals involved was taken to an area medical center by ambulance.
Due to the severity of the accident, almost all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Roosevelt Highway as an alternate route while they worked to clear the scene and complete the on-scene portion of their investigation.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
