Athens, GA – Pedestrian Accident at Carlton St & Sanford Dr
Athens, GA (August 26, 2021) – At 10:40 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 26, a pedestrian accident occurred in Athens.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Carlton Street and Sanford Drive. A pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was crossing the intersection when they were struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver allegedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was injured in the crash. The party was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
