Athens, GA – Pedestrian Accident at Baldwin St & Jackson St
Athens, GA (September 15, 2021) – At 8:39 a.m. on Monday morning, September 13, a pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Athens.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at Baldwin Street and Jackson Street. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were struck by a vehicle that entered the intersection. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the scene of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Their condition is not known but they are expected to survive.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
