Athens, GA – One Injured in Car Crash at Oconee St & Williams St
Athens, GA (August 31, 2021) – At 9:52 p.m. on the night of Saturday, August 28, a car crash with injuries occurred at an Athens intersection.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Oconee Street and Williams Street. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with one another. The vehicles were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, identified as a driver of one of the vehicles, was injured in the accident. The party was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
