Athens, GA – Injury Accident at E Campus Rd & Green St Intersection
Athens, GA (January 11, 2023) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Athens on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 10.
According to University of Georgia Police Department officials, the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Campus Road and Green Street. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with one another. The involved vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the drivers involved in the accident sustained an injury and was treated at the scene by EMS crews but is expected to recover. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
