Athens, GA (November 17, 2021) – At 2:45 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 16, a driver was hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Athens.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Carlton Street and Lumpkin Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of one of the vehicles, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the accident. They are expected to fully recover.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was completely blocked at the intersection for some time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
