Athens, GA – Auto Crash at Riverbend Rd & Riverbend Pkwy Results in injuries
Athens, GA (October 14, 2021) – At 11:52 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, October 12, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Athens.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Riverbend Road and Riverbend Parkway. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One driver involved in the collision sustained injuries as a result. The party was hospitalized, though their condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
