Armuchee, GA – Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash at GA-140 & Floyd Springs Rd
Armuchee, GA (August 21, 2021) – On Friday night, August 20, a fatal three-vehicle crash took place at an intersection in Armuchee.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-140 and Floyd Springs Road. Police confirmed that a woman was traveling east in the area and waiting to turn left onto Floyd Springs when she was suddenly struck from behind by a Hummer driven by a 16-year-old. The Hummer pushed her vehicle into traffic, where it was then struck by a Ram pickup truck.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 39-year-old driver of the vehicle that was struck from behind was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the crash.
Charges are currently pending against one or more drivers.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
