Aragon, GA – Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on GA 101 at Live Oak Rd
Aragon, GA (May 31, 2021) – On Saturday evening, May 29, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash and another woman sustained serious injuries in the Aragon area.
Around 9:00 p.m., a white Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck was traveling westbound on Live Oak Road. At the same time, a black Yamaha custom motorcycle was heading north on Georgia 101. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado then failed to yield to the Yamaha motorcycle while entering GA 101, causing the left side of the Chevrolet Silverado to hit the front end of the Yamaha motorcycle. The driver of the Yamaha motorcycle, identified as a 53-year-old man, suffered critical injuries.
He was to be transported by helicopter, but his condition worsened quickly and he was rushed to Floyd Medical Center via ambulance. He passed away in the emergency center. An Aragon coroner said that the man’s body will be taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab for an autopsy.
A female passenger riding on the man’s motorcycle was also taken to an Atlanta area hospital, though her current condition is unknown. It’s unclear if the truck’s driver sustained injuries in the wreck.
The investigation is ongoing.
