Appling, GA – Two-Vehicle Crash at Washington Rd & Pike Ave
Appling, GA (September 22, 2021) – At 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 22, a two-vehicle crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Appling.
According to Columbia County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Washington Road and Pike Avenue near the Lake Crossing Health Center. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles belonged to the Columbia County Animal Services.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained serious injuries in the accident. The injured victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, several lanes of traffic were blocked until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
